Iago Rodicio, Parsec regional manager for the European Market looks at the case for automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Automation
The case for automation in pharmaceutical manufacturing is simple.
Manufacturing is complex, by definition. If you’re dealing with high-volume manufacturing, automation is clearly the way to stay on top of demand. If you have complex manufacturing, automation makes it possible to consistently produce quality products. If you have low-margin manufacturing, automation provides the means for economic viability. On top of that, if you are a pharmaceutical manufacturer, then you have to accomplish this with very intense regulations, but preserving efficiency. In this case more than any other, automation ensures consistency, regulatory adherence and enables data integrity.
